TheAnimal Crossingcommunity has always flaunted its creative streak through in-game creations. InNew Leaf, themed towns that could be explored through theDream Suite, which dataminers have theorized could return eventually. WhileNew Horizonshas no Dream Suite feature to speak of currently, players are able to showcase their unique island creations all across social media. Some players have already posted their horror-inspired creations for all to admire.

While players can’t currentlyshare their own Aika Village creationsinNew Horizonsand have other players visit at their leisure, they can still share them on social media. One recent fan creation takes the popular horror-town craze ofNew Leafand adds an interesting twist to it. Specifically, a YouTube creator by the name of Evil Imp created a full-fledged horror movie-inspired trailer using only in-game assets. The video is about two minutes long and well worth a watch.

The trailer uses classic tropes from modern day horror trailers, like the eerie, distant sounds of a music box or the use of thunderous booms to add emphasize to “jump scares.” What makes this trailer so impressive is that it consists of only in-game footage and assets, complete with Animalese narration. Another huge boon to the trailer is the excellent editing done, making it feel like something that could almost realistically be a trailer for an actual game. The trailer also makes use of some greatspooky villagers fromAnimal Crossinglike Coco and Pietro.

As mentioned before, theAnimal Crossingcommunity is one of the most creative fandoms out there. Even with fairly rigid and limited tools, members of the community are able to cobble together some truly impressive feats. For example, one player recentlyremade Disney’s Haunted Mansion inNew Horizons. As the game’s life extends and Nintendo continues to add updates, hopefully players will be able to capture specific snapshots of their island to share with the world, likeNew Leaf’s Dream Suite provided.
