IGN posted a new trailer for a new title forAssassin’s Creed Nexus VR. It showcases a first-person adaptation of the series' classic gameplay, but this time around, the player controls three iconic protagonists: Connor fromAssassin’s Creed 3, Kassandra fromOdyssey, and fan-favorite Ezio fromAssassin’s Creed 2, each with their own differences in fighting style. According to the narration, the plot centers on the Templar plan to seize ancient technology and profile people, who they would then recruit into their belief system. Thus, a mysterious voice summons the three assassins from across time and space to team up and thwart this evil scheme. After showing off footage of each assassin, complete with their own quips, the trailer ends with a shot of Ezio landing in a haystack from a first-person view.

Reception in the comments appeared mostly positive, with many fans noting how solid the gameplay looked, and others gushing over the return of oldAssassin’s Creedprotagonists who had not shown up in a decade or more, complete with their original voice actors. However, there was a notable amount of criticism aimed at the Meta Quest exclusivity, with several fans pining for a version on the PlayStation 5’s PSVR2 accessory.

Virtual Reality has quickly become a rising trendin the gaming industry, able to span across multiple genres and provide a unique, immersive, first-person spin on them. With multiple iconic IPs having already dabbled in this feature, it was really only a matter of time beforeAssassin’s Creedwould follow suit.
